COVER/BACKGROUND FOR THE PROPOSAL
It is worth noting that despite the launch of BTV years ago Batswana continue to rely on foreign content for entertainment and it is time we realise the need for entertainment programs. This program will bring entertainment to our audience and also improve the status of our television in Botswana. Though we have seen programs like Pop Idol Botswana the vacuum for local content continue to grow. This should reflect the need for more programs that will reflect on our values as Batswana and also make us competitive. It is through these words I can emphasise the importance of sponsorship for local programs.
CONCEPT: Rebranding (TV Show)
Objectives:
Promote small enterprises
Rebranding of local institutions/products
To encourage local designers to be more creative
Emphasise our trust on local content or designers
Encourage the consumption of local content
Economic diversification
This program looks at the most important aspects on how you as the consumers can play a role in creating a new look for our local content. This is to say;
STEP 2
a) How much can you influence the local market to consume local content?
b) Can you create a new look?
c) How can you create it?
d) The impact of rebranding to the following: your society, small enterprises and sponsors?
e) Are you satisfied with look of that logo or the design package design?
f) What do consumers/your say as a consumer?
CRITERIA
8 teams will go head to head to reflect on their creative strengths to give your company or product a new image. Teams will be assigned to redesign certain logos or packages for certain products or company. For each team to continue with the competition it will depend on the number of votes they earn. This program will bring individuals from graphic design, public relations or communication together.
After their design each team will pitch their ideas to a panel of three judges. At the end of the show the audience will vote for the best logo or package design that is appealing to the consumers. The group will sell their ideas to the producers or companies for the packages or logos they have redesigned. This will allow producers to know what consumers really want.
This show will consist of phase one and two. Phase one of this show will reflect on the creative abilities of the contestants and the second phase will be on presentation.
Phase one will be in a docudrama format. We will follow different teams to see how they develop their ideas into designs or labels. The purpose for this is to promote the consumption of local content and to instil a sense of pride and self reliance among Batswana.
In phase one, contestants will approach different institutions and pitch their intentions. It is through this show that we will be able to change and bring something new and appealing to the consumers.
This program should allow consumers to comment and decide the kind of look they want for different companies especially logos. It is wise to note that this project can be a strategic development for small enterprises and the business world in general.
This show will bring designers as well as people from different fields like communication together. Each team will decide on the logo`s colour, design, message and placements.
The second phase will be on presentation format where each team will reveal their designs to a panel of three judges with different expertise from marketing, public relations, graphic design and branding.
Phase two will allow the consumers to comment and vote for the look or design that is appealing.
Duration for the episode: 1 hour (Wednesdays)
Duration for the show: 10 Weeks
WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM THE SPONSOR
Financial assistance for the following: Payment for the judges, presenters and prize money for 1st and 2nd prize
Manpower (BTV) It is worth stressing that since I do not have the equipment for the show this will be a joint projector between I, all the sponsors and the Botswana television.
Refreshments for the judges, presenters and contestants
T shirts for presenters and judges (Preferably local designs)
Airtime
BENEFITS TO SPONSORS
i. This will give exposure to all the sponsors since their names will be announced on every episode. This will familiarise the public with those institutions.
ii. Since the audience will be allowed to participate through SMS to vote for the best team mobile companies will see high sales for airtime
iii. Compliment the notion of corporate social responsibility

Over the past months this program has grown to new heights as we have seen more people from various institutions visiting the show daily. The influx of visitors to this show reflect the audience interest in watching this show and it will continue to play a significant role in connecting and informing Batswana on everything that new like Botswana to the world TV show.
• CALL IN
The presenters and judges of the show will be invited to the show to share their views with the audience. It is through this program that we will be able to comment and share our thoughts from the show. This is the most effective part of promotion since it allows us to even criticise each other’s comment. The timing of this tactic is very important and the most appropriate time for this is a morning show.
• SMS
This will continue throughout the show since it will allow the audience to have a say on how the contestants are performing. Through this the audience will vote for the best and weak team in the show.
• NEWSPAPER
This will be used a follow-up for the show. This slot will comment of the contestants (Gossip).This will allow the audience to know their contestants or teams and this will improve the following for the show.
• FACEBOOK ACCOUNT FOR THE PROGRAM
Facebook has been the most effective way of sharing ideas or information and I trust that this will continue to be effective in promoting our show. It is a simple way for the audience to place their gossip or comments on the show.

Week 8

• Groups will consult with representatives from the company to check on the take as to how they are progressing and the representatives will be allowed to rate the groups
• Votes will continue and the audience will be allowed to comment on who they think will leave the competition because in week 9 the judges will be given a chance to vote one group out.
• We will see how we differ with the decision from the judges
Week 9
• Flash back from the previous week will be shown
• This time the judges will be given a chance to vote one group out and only two teams will be left and they will assign the groups to pick six of their weak designs and redesign them.
• The audience will call in to weigh on the groups, the judges will comment and the audience will have a final say in week 10
Week 10
• Flash back from the previous weeks will be shown
• The last vote in this week will be made 30 minutes before the end of the show and the winners will be announced. The teams will vote for the best candidate and judges will have a final say on the candidate but the audience will vote on the best team.
• The teams will make their final presentation and reveal 12 of their best logos and 12 package designs for companies.
• The companies will comment and also the public
Results from the votes will be announced
